Meet the Team

Colette Conway – Director

Colette comes from a lifetime love for music, especially singing! Her earliest memories of performing are at the age of 3 when her cousins would ask her to sing for their friends at the park. Songs like “I’m a Little Teapot”, and “On Top of Ole Smokey” were her song selection of choice in those early days. She then progressed to singing in school musicals and talent showcases. In her late teens she was lead singer in a locally successful country rock band called “The Starlite’s.” Her debut single “Two Story House” achieved Top 10      Status in the Can Country Countdown, receiving abundant airplay all across Canada and Europe. Colette then took a bit of a sabbatical from professional singing and started her family. Being a mother of 4 sons, 1 daughter, and foster children has kept her very busy, but she always finds time for music. Colette has been a participant in church choirs, Big Rock Singers, and Guys and Dolls. She takes every opportunity she can to perform and still has a desire to be on stage, most recently winning a Talent Show on an international cruise. She also took a very active role as a volunteer, and later, Assistant Director in a previous local community children’s choir. Colette considers herself a vocalist first and foremost. She has, however, acquired many skills and talents over the years, both in her approach to working with children and to her vision in the performing arts.

Jay Howard – Vice President/Costumes

Certain that everyone loves to dress up, especially while they are performing, B-Jay is presently having a blast designing a myriad of fun and showy costumes for the Little Rock Show Choir performers!
Born and raised in Northern B.C. , B-Jay eventually moved to Calgary, furthering her career as an Insurance Agent. Many years later, when her older children were in Elementary school, B-Jay earned her Degree in Sociology at U of C and assisted with theoretical research on Artists and Crafters. Her knowledge and love of the fabric arts was quite useful while interviewing well over a hundred artisans across Alberta and Canada.
B-Jay believes she inherited her creative gene from her Dad who was well-known within his own community.  She initially learned the basics of fabric manipulation from several talented teachers who also tried to persuade her to continue in that direction.   Constantly striving to learn more, she shared her love of fabrics and woodwork with her fantastic      family and within the Alberta community.  A personal highlight for B-Jay was producing and co-hosting the First Fashion Show for creative homeschoolers (girls and boys) in Alberta.
Using her own designs and patterns (developed under her company name) B-Jay now teaches in Calgary with others who share a similar fascination with creating. In addition, she works behind the scenes volunteering and contributing a variety of sewn items for      various organizations.

Colton Conway – Accompanist

Colton started as a participant in North of Broadway Show Choir at the age of 8.  He moved over to Little Rock Show Choir and stayed until he graduated out of the program during his last year of High School.  Colton loves the guitar, and has dabbled on drums, bass, and keyboard.  He is an accomplished singer and songwriter with currently 3 singles available for download at itunes, googleplay, and spotify.  This is Colton’s second year as our accompanist, and he is a real asset to our group.  He is able to offer input with improvements based on his personal experiences as a previous participant in the program.  We are happy to have him as a part of our team!
